| | Description | The ION Audio Drum Rocker Core is a premium drum set for the Rock Band 2 video game. The Drum Rocker Core is designed to take a real beating with all the positioning flexibility that professional drummers demand. Drum Rocker Core's professional aluminum drum rack lets you position your snare and tom pads wherever you want and its all-metal foot pedal is rugged and reliable. You can add optional Drum Rocker cymbals to customize your setup with real-feel, swinging cymbals that are color-assignable. And when you're ready to move from playing Rock Band to playing in a rock band, you can swap the game controller module with one of the professional drum brains made by Alesis, and you're ready to hit the road for real! Drum Rocker Core's velocity-sensitive drum pads feature a playing surface that is much quieter than other drum controllers. They also feel great – the stick rebound off of the pad is much more natural and consistent than anything else available. The pad housing is made of high-impact plastic, designed to be whacked on stage night after night. No matter how much you punish them, the Drum Rocker Core drum pads can take it. The pads are mounted to the drum rack with a metal L-Arm and clamp system, which allows them to be tilted, swiveled, raised and lowered to whatever position you want. Just one warning – once you play these pads, nothing else will do! The kick drum pedal with any drum controller takes a lot of abuse. No need to worry with Drum Rocker – this pedal is all metal and built to last! It's also got the right amount of tension to replicate the feeling of playing a real drum pedal, and we're even building an accessory pedal to allow for double-pedal setups. The pedal comes with velcro so you can be sure it will stay put. You're not limited to where you place it either – put the kick pedal wherever you feel most comfortable playing it. | |

Great Nov 09, 2009
By Steven Mulchi The Ion works great! My friend owns one and I decided to purchase one for myself. In my own opinion, if you are buying the Ion, buy the Ion drum rocker core that does not come with the cymbals. The original Ion cymbals are not worth the extra $100. But the Core drum kit, and order diffrent cymbals, there are tons available online.

awesome, minus pedal Mar 04, 2011
By some guy This set is really nice. It doesn't drop any notes as long as you hit the pads with reasonable force. Reasonable force being not a light tap. Like you've heard from other reviews, the pedal is crap. I was like you. I thought I'd be easy on it and not break it like everyone else, but I did. So really, for a set that'll last, you're looking at the cost of this plus $100 or so for the rock pedal which I'm on my way to buying. I still recommend this set because if you don't consider the pedal, it's a fantastic piece of equipment.

Good Kit Sep 19, 2010
By Bulb This kit responds very well, provides good bounce, and is pretty quiet when struck. It's not perfect, though: it can't be raised nearly as tall as the Rock Band stock kit, the pedal just feels a little off (it still works fine, though), and the pads don't respond to very light touches. With my play style, this has been a bit of a problem, but I've adjusted. But overall, they work very well, and if you're a Rock Band addict like me, most likely worth it.

Great with one exception Aug 06, 2010
By Marilyn Monroe My son loves this drum set for his Xbox 360!
He had one major problem with the kick pedal. It is solid and sturdy, but the piece that hits the receiver fell off in only a couple of days. He tried to re-attached it with super glue, but it didn't hold and fell off again the same day. I am sending it back for a replacement. I am really hoping that the next one doesn't have the same defect.

Awesome drum set with only a small flaw. Jul 18, 2010
By Mike M The Ion Drum Rocker Core is an all around excellent product, the instructions can be a little plain and confusing, but I had not too much trouble putting this together in under an hour.
One problem with the kit overall is the kick pedal, for the most part it is solid and sturdy, but the piece that hits the receiver to signify a kick is very flimsy. Mine fell off in under a week (about 30-40 songs). I am hoping it can be easily reattached w/ super glue or will be replaced by the company.
Even with that small hiccup this kit is highly recommended for any hardcore Rock Band fan.
