5Cult of the "nold" school  Jun 11, 2009 By Phantasmagoria
Take one part goth asthetic, mix with a bit of dark humor, and then combine a fully mapped and VERY functional control scheme. What do you get, an addictive masterfully balanced sidescroller that trumps expectations and delivers mucho replayability for you DL dollar. The challenge level is high here as even easy and normal modes offer little mercy, but as you master the control scheme and your samurai levels up you will start to feel the POWER of the varied weapon sets and skills that accompany them. WIth a single player story (14 levels) , arcade mode(50 levels), local and online co-op(featuring limited guitar peripheral controls!) and FIVE difficulty settings there is alot to come back to. If you relish the frenzied chaos of games like METAL SLUG, and the pinpoint jump and strikes of a Ninja Gaiden you are about indulge in a little slice of gaming heaven. Other than some seriously sore fingers I can't think of any real drawbacks. Certain bosses QTE finishes feel a little forgiving if anything. Precision button mashing has never been finer, this is a cult classic game and one of if not the most visceral bargains LIVEARCADE has to offer. Just be prepared to be CHALLENGED and REWARDED.

5Strange name, Triple A game.  Jul 04, 2011 By Clint C.
This game is amazing. A visceral bloodbath comic-driven romp through multiple locales using a handful of really fun weapons. It can be quite difficult, perhaps more so than the coveted Ninja Gaiden series and every bit as fun. There's even a sequel out that, though I've only played the demo, I'd recommend every bit as much as this one.

4Owch  May 07, 2010 By Randy Reeves "PapaBear"
The graphics are fun and the game is solid. I must be getting older though because after the first level, my thumb was so cramped I couldn't push that damn button any longer. It felt as if the bone had been bruised for a week afterward. I can't do a five minute mile any more either. I'll have to stick to food through a straw, lazy boy recliners, and puzzle games from now on.
If your still young, like side scrolling games, and repetitive stress injuries, then this game is for you. Its not just a simple matter of whackin a button though. You need to learn the patterns for specific moves if you hope to go anywhere in this game.
Well done for the kind of game it is and you can't beat the price.
