| | Description | Now available for your delight and convenience, the hard to find tamper resistant screwdriver size 8. Has a small hole in the tip, to bypass the post in a tamper resistant screw, like the ones found in the OEM Microsoft wireless controller for the xbox 360. Works perfectly on all the screws in the Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless controller. Screwdriver handle is MUCH easier to use and provides much more leverage than L key style wrenches provide. Ease of use plus a low price gives you a great value! The quality you need in an affordable design. | |

Worked great -- saved me $50 bucks on a new controller Feb 17, 2009
By GK It happens to the best of us. My Xbox 360 controller was sitting on my coffee table. I accidently knocked over a glass of soda and the controller was hit.
I was able to dry the surplus soda off the unit, but the buttons immediately became sticky and slow to respond. I figured this would be an easy fix, so I came to Amazon to find an Xbox 360 controller screwdriver.
I placed my order and received it in just two days.
Opening up the controller took just a few minutes. I gently unscrewed the security screws as to not strip them. The controller loosened up, but took a little massaging due to the dried soda.
After opened, I cleaned the controller housing with water, cleaned all the electrical contacts and buttons with 50/50 alcohol and water. I was also able to clean out all the crud that builds up between the two haves of the controllers.
I blew out all the extra water using a hair dryer. I let the housing and buttons sit for an hour.
I put the controller back together in reverse order and everything worked beautifully. No more sticky and slow responding buttons.
At $5 bucks, you cannot go wrong. As the title says, I saved $50 bucks.

works great Nov 07, 2010

I tried to use a regular torx screwdriver to take apart my XBOX 360 controller and it wouldn't work due to the trick screws that were used to put said controller together. They have a small raised nub in the center that kept my standard torx driver from fitting. However, the driver I'm reviewing worked flawlessly and I was able to take apart and clean my controller without difficulty. If you are nervous about tearing apart your controllers to make your own repairs, go to youtube and watch some of the many instructional videos on how to take apart your stuff before you try it.

Gets the job done! Oct 25, 2008
By amazoner its simple, handle may be a bit slippery but it does what its supposed to do, open a 360 controller. quality itself is great, used it a couple times and its still in good shape. and for $1.50 you cant go wrong, its a smart buy.

Wrong one, as many others have said May 05, 2012
By Sicklyboy As many others have said, the product shipped was nothing like the one in the picture. I too got the skinny one with the yellow/orange rotating top, which is nice... except it's a T10S, not a T8S. I didn't plan to use it to take apart controllers, but instead to take off the heatsink clamp mounts and have one for the controllers if I needed it. It doesn't fit the controllers or the clamp mounts, but it perfectly fits the screws all around the bottom of the mobo tray, indicating it's a T10S. No size indication on the screwdriver whatsoever. And given the price, it's not even worth the hassle of trying to ship it back.
I've had this for probably over two months now, just hadn't taken the time to write a review yet.
