 Nostalgic games; underutilized the TV screen Mar 20, 2011

These are nostalgic games. I bought the code because of Galaga, as that was my favorite arcade game in the 80s in addition to Pac Man. (Pac Man wasn't a big deal since I could pay for the app on most smart phones and on many PC game CDs.)
The game kept the original form factor, which doesn't use the HDTV screen very well. It only uses 2/3 of vertical space, and less than 1/2 of horizontal. They could've easy blown up bigger and kept the aspect ratio intact.
A note back to Galaga, rapid firing on the PS3 wireless controller was just not the same as the buttons on the original arcade machine. I could never get the firing to be fast enough to hit all during challenging stages like I could in arcade...
For the games in this bundle, I think you have to love one of the games that you can't get else where.

Where are all the other Namco classics like Pole Position 1 and 2, Galaxian, and Ms. Pac-Man? I hope this is just the 1st of a series. It looks good with what appears to be exact emulations, including the insert coin button and demo screens that I remember in the arcades.

It's nice to have some classic Namco games on my big screen, only thing I wish they would have is Pole Position as a game but oh well the other games are pretty great as well. I think the way they setup this Mix is pretty awesome on how it gives the player a multiple option setting before they start each game.

OMG, the nice arcade times are back! I finally could enjoy the classic arcade games (some with upgraded version included). The trophies added more challenge to old classics and a almos endless replay fun factor. I like it, maybe NAMCO can release more classic games!

These are the same games you grew up with. Not updated or changed in any [significant] way.
Overall, the package was as advertised and for the games included it's a 5 star product.
However, it really should have been cheaper (minus a star) and the games should all include 2 player mode (minus another star).
For a SINGLE PLAYER ONLY collection of retro arcade games, it's good but not great. 3 stars.
