Great Replacement Option (Made by same OEM) Dec 01, 2010
By C. Herrmann Controller thumbstick replacements occur, whether you're a casual gamer or a gamer that plays in tournaments such as myself.
Usually if you get a controller you use a lot and get into the groove with thumstick use, it's to of no surprise you don't wish to drop $30+ on a new controller.
Installation is a snap and the thumbsticks should be worked in circles afterwards to ensure that they are seated on their connector rod.
Also, these are made by the same OEM that produces the thumbsticks for Microsoft, so the quality is the same, which is great :)

Everything I needed to fix what the dog broke Jun 13, 2011
By mdschoe Maybe I didn't read the fine print or I just got lucky, but this kit came with the joysticks and the tool necessary to change them out. I fixed the controller that our dogs chewed up in under 15 minutes. Just a note there is a sticker under the battery compartment that hides the last screw that needs to be removed on the controller.

Replacement Thumbstick NOT OEM (really 2.5 stars) Mar 06, 2012
By RobTrench First off they replaced a worn out controller stick exactly. Installation was pretty easy for me if you can turn a screwdriver and can remember the order things come out in it's easy. The fit was exact for me and they even 'looked' the same. They replaced a three yer old controller that was losing it's rubber because I dropped it too many times. There is another reviewer that stated they were OEM, I want to add they only look OEM. These controller sticks starting losing the rubber coating in only 4.5 months. This is not from hardcore use, I am far from a teenager with no job or life. I put in less than five hours a week playing. I would gladly pay for an OEM replacement but the ones I was shipped were not, YMMV. Also it did not include the needed bits to take them apart, the description at the time eluded to this. I would buy again but for two dollars and free shipping since it appears to be a consumable product and not a replacement for stock.

Won't fit PS3 Dual Shock without modification Nov 07, 2011
By Dar Dudley I got this because I'm getting ready for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition. I ordered them because of the accidental knifing (R3 press) problem while playing COD caused by having to apply too much pressure in order to keep my thumbs on the sticks.
If you put these on a Sony PS3 controller they fit, but the dome on the bottom is too high and rubs against the edge of the opening that the thumbsticks fit through, causing them to stick in whatever direction you've pushed them. As you can guess, this is a pain during gaming.
To fix it, I used a drill (I recommend a Dremel. I didn't have one.) with a 1/16 inch bit to deepen the hole in the bottom of each stick by about 1/16" or so. Just enough to let it slide down further on the post and leave a very slight gap between the dome and the casing once it's all put back together. Be careful not to let the drill bit hit the sides of the hole or it'll fit too loosely on the post. Just drill around at the bottom until it's deepened enough. After that, they work just fine.
CAUTION: KIDS, get an adult to do this! I don't want to hear about any gory accidents and I take no responsibility for any injury incurred from trying this mod. Be careful! You've been warned!
As I said, they work fine after the mod. I wish the thumbgrips on top were rubberized, though. They're just hard plastic. But the concave top and the four little bumps on each did the trick, allowing me to maintain control without pressing down too hard.

Perfect Replacements! Sep 01, 2011
By Mark Brown These thumbsticks were the perfect replacement for my old worn-out originals. Installation was relatively easy and straightforward and the thumbsticks even came with the T8H Torx allen wrench that you need to open your controller. After installation, I doubt anyone would even be able to notice that they were replaced. Great product!
